Behind The Lens look at : OHFW2018

New York Fashion Week was full of bold prints, colorful patterns, and packed full of celebrity drama. Well, there was no drama behind the scenes at the Upper Echelon Fashion show that kicked off Ohio Fashion Week. Haute Ohio Magazine bought to life high fashion, entertainment, and uplifting messages during this years fashion show. Backstage was full of hustle and bustle, last minute touch ups, and runway tips provided by Mr. Walk Fashion Show himself Mr. Ego Maserati. The hair/mua team worked hard from early in the morning until the last model was camera ready. Veteran hair stylist and owner of Glam 2 go Beauty Malika Brown says she enjoys the long hours of working making sure all models are styled to perfection. The show also allows for industry professionals to network and mingle. The models were demure with quiet excitement. The show opened up with a dance number which got the crowd ready for the fashions and keynote speakers. Backstage I spoke with models from Project Model. These couture ladies and gents are high energy and exude exotic beauty . They command your attention every time they hit the runway. Speaking of exotic, the collection from CHIMU was full of bold African prints from Ghana and Nigeria. Models were in face paint and embodied confidence and strength on the runway. There was a combination of high fashion, wearable art, and ready to wear. There were fashions for every age, style, and size. The theme that remained fluid throughout the night was diversity and inclusion. There was a plethora of ethnicities, sizes, age and it was a beautiful sight to see. To add to the already amazing line up, Victoria Henly from cycle 22 of America's Next Top Model graced the runway and gave an inspirational message to everyone in attendance. Be yourself, love your body and don’t be afraid to try. The show was overall refreshing. There were fashions for everyone as stated previously including vintage pieces provided by Dolce and Gabbana via “It’s so you!” resale boutique. Diamonds were on the runway shining all night. Kudos to the team and staff behind this amazing show. This event would not have been possible without the wonderful Jackie Bertolette. Haute Ohio Magazine and brand is only getting better and brighter every year. I look forward to more fashion and even more glamour next year.
